Exploding Customer started out in 1999. Saxophonist Martin Küchen is the group´s founder and composer. Exploding Customer´s very first gig with the present setting was recorded at Glenn Miller Café in Stockholm, Sweden and became their first CD ''Live at Glenn Miller Café'', released on Ayler Records which recieved superb reviews. The quartet has toured several times in Sweden and Norway. They have performed at the Umeå International Jazz Festival, Sweden 2004 and at the Tampere Jazz Happening, Finland 2004. In January 2006 they released their second CD ”Live at Tampere Jazz Happening”, again released on Ayler Records, and again the album recieved superb reviews. This new recording shows a clearer tightness, exploring also other musical domains than previously, with new compositions by Martin Küchen where the whole group - drummer Kjell Nordeson, double-bass player Benjamin Quigley and trumpet player Tomas Hallonsten - is involved in the arranging of the forms and in keeping the spirits high.
